Founder
Clara is a traveller, a nature – lover, a movement & wellbeing – seeker.
She has been travelling the world in different forms since she was a child. Her dreams spin a lot around new destinations to explore. When she was 18, she lived by herself in India for almost one year and that was a break-even point in her life. After that, she embarked on other travels which kept on transforming her in some way.
She has professionally designed travel experiences with boutique travel companies for years and she has worked for international hotel companies worldwide.
With time, she realized that people want to travel like travellers, not tourist, & that they look to reset through travel more and more. She believes that travel can be a force for good and exploring more sustainably is the only way forward.
She founded Makai to bring all the above together. Makai is a result of research, exploration and collaboration with phenomenal locally based partners.
She is currently based between Dubai and Spain. She was born in Galicia, a coastal Spanish region, but considers that she has multiple belongings, a result of many years exploring the world.
